ABSTRACT The aims of the study was to provide insights into the present understanding and approaches graphic designers’ perspectives towards environmental sustainability. The researcher adopted a quantitative action research method, which provided detailed interpretation from observations. Key findings of the study included most graphics designers believe that the practice of graphics designing realistically impacts the promotion of environmental sustainability through educating their audiences. Web designers and packaging designers are well placed in using elements of persuasion in their graphics design processes for environmental sustainability through audiences’ education and working with sustainable clients. There is no association between having an interest in sustainability topics and graphics design genre. Graphics design has greater impacts in transmitting messages of environmental sustainability to targeted audiences. It is important for practicing graphics designers to embrace environmental sustainability principles and elements of persuasion in their designs, by understanding their audiences’ values, cultures, languages, and motivations. 0
